IDA WDC Thiruvalla celebrated international womens day State event at KGA Elite Continental, Thiruvalla. IDA Kerala state 1st Vice President Dr Sherry M Joseph inaugurated the function. IDA WDC KSB chairperson Dr.AnneyGeorge and IDA WDC KSB secretary Dr.Shejeena Shinil, addressed the gathering.
On the occasion of women’s day we honored three women personalities of outstanding achievements
1. Prof Dr Anita Balan - JDME, Govt Dental College, Thiruvananthapuram
2.Dr Sindhu RS - HOD, Dept of Surgical Gastroenterology, Govt Medical College Kottayam
3. Mrs Manjula M. G - Newsreader, Doordarshan, Thiruvananthapuram
Three of them spoke on the occasion.
Membership drive: 4 new lady members joined the branch.
IDA WDC Thiruvalla had arranged 7 days of events started on march 1st to march 7th in connection with the International Women’S Day Celebration on March 8th 2022. 'Bekhauff' A women Empowerment choreography was performed by our members .
Visit to Asha Bhavan, Kozhimala near Thiruvalla, a destitute home for mentally challenged women.
Visit to Abhaya Bhavan, Muthoor Thiruvalla. An old age home for women.
An online wellness workshop and yoga session for wdc members by Yashvanti Sunil.
An outing day to Hotel Windsor Castle, Kottayam and out door video choreography on women empowerment by WDC members.
An awareness talk on Gynaecological issues to Kudumbasree women by Dr Rachel Mathew, Associate Professor, Pushpagiri Medical College.
A visit to Sreeparvathi Balika Sadanam, Pulladu. Paediatric awareness talk by Dr Subbalakshmi, Paediatric and preventive dentist, Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences
Collection of old sarees and donating to a charity trust Madras Fuse to upgrade to bags, table clothes, table mats, purses for the livelihood of lesser privileged women.
